I'd never trust a god whose gift to you was a dagger stained red from sacrifices. Especially when he was only on the second floor. There must be tons of other gods who are more powerful and more trustworthy. And it's clear they can't really directly intervene much in the labyrinth so there's only so much the god can even do to you if you reject them.
