Sakura Uehara is thirty years old and has devoted her entire adult life to work. Since high school she hasn’t even dated, determined instead to prove herself in the corporate world. Without a university degree, she went straight into the workforce, vowing to show she was every bit as capable as the “college elites” her company prized so highly. After twelve years, her hard work pays off—she rises to department head.
Her pride takes a hit, however, when one of those very “college elites” is placed under her. Yamada is handsome, talented, and clearly destined for promotion. Worse still, his rise threatens to surpass her own. Resentment grows quickly, and Sakura convinces herself she hates him.
When she takes on a project with a brutal deadline, disaster strikes. A blackout wipes out her data, and she breaks down, certain she has failed. Yet Yamada appears, and together they manage to finish the job in time. Grateful, Sakura admits she owes him one. His request is simple: a date.
One thing leads to another, and soon Sakura finds herself in a love hotel with the very man she swore to despise. But can Yamada break through her tough exterior and win her heart—or will pride keep her walls intact?
